Police Ombudsman investigates complaint over PSNI officer allegedly kicking teenager in head

A 16 year old youth has made a complaint to the police ombudsman following an incident last weekend outside Time nightclub in Cookstown.

Video footage has emerged of the teenager being kicked in the head by a police officer whilst another officer had physically restrained him on the ground.

Our client Shea Somerville a minor, has complained to the police ombudsman following this incident and we now understand that the PSNI have also self referred themselves to the office of the police ombudsman following the incident.

Our Gavin Booth acts for the teenager has said,

“We are calling for the officer to be immediately suspended from duties there is no circumstances that he should be allowed near the general public.”
