The three QUB Students who have been charged as a result of the protest in support of Palestine, have lodged a formal complaint with the Police Ombudsman Office for Northern Ireland.
On Thursday 14th November 2024 a protest was held at Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) regarding an event involving Hilary Clinton. Videos of the protest have been circulating on social media and show a number of people being arrested by officers.
A number of local MLAs, QUB Academics and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) have raised concerns over the treatment of protesters at Queen’s University .
Three have subsequently been charged. All three deny the charges and have raised concerns about the lawfulness of the Police actions.
Our Mr Darragh Mackin and Mr Gavin Booth act for the three protestors who have been charged as a result.
A copy of our complaint to PONI is accessible below.
