Human Rights Dublin Conference: Voluntary Assistance Scheme

Our Darragh Mackin was in Dublin on Friday 4th October 2024 to take part in the Law Library’s Voluntary Assistance Scheme (‘VAS’) Conference.

He spoke on the final panel of the VAS conference as they explored the use of pro bono litigation to protect and vindicate human rights.

The availability of pro bono litigation has become an essential tool in the development of human rights law, both in case law and the knock-on effects which can result from challenging human rights violations in the Courts.

The panel members at this session focused on litigation that they have been involved in and looked at trends in the human rights sphere. They were:
