Covid 19 – Taxi Support Scheme achieved

The Department of Infrastructure has formally requested new powers to set up a hardship scheme for taxi drivers whose trade has collapsed during the pandemic on foot of legal pressure.

Partner, Darragh Mackin, representing the group commented, “we warmly welcome the ongoing engagement with the minister and her officials in trying to reach a resolution of the issues with respect to the taxi industry. Today is a very significant step for the taxi industry whereby the minister has now sought the necessary statutory powers to bring about a scheme that will resolve the current financial crisis that has struck the industry.”
