Phoenix Law Congratulates Former Partner Ciarán Moynagh on Judicial Appointment

Phoenix Law is delighted to extend our warmest congratulations to former Partner, Ciarán Moynagh, on his appointment as a Judge of the County Court of Northern Ireland.

Ciarán was a founding member of Phoenix Law and played a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s ethos of fearless advocacy, innovation, and commitment to justice. His career has been marked by groundbreaking work across public law, human rights, and equality cases, many of which have had a lasting impact on the legal landscape in Northern Ireland. Whilst in post at Phoenix Law, Ciaran appeared in some of the most high profile human rights and public law challenges including Ashers v UK (‘The Gay Case’ case) before the European Court of Human Rights and the challenges in respect of Marriage Equality and Abortion Rights.

This appointment is a testament to his outstanding legal expertise, dedication, and integrity. While we are proud of all that he achieved during his time at Phoenix Law, we are even more proud to see him continue his service to the rule of law and wider society in this new capacity.
